Technology Ethics and Internet Use Pledge

1. I have read, understand, and will abide by TCA’s Technology Ethics and Use Policy.
2. If I stumble across something that makes me feel uncomfortable, I will press <ALT+F4> immediately to terminate the program and I will immediately report the incident to the teacher.
3. I will not give out personal information such as my address, telephone number, parents’ work address/telephone number, or the name and location of my school without my parents’ permission and the teacher’s permission.
4. I will not look at, download, or copy inappropriate or questionable material; if I’m not sure that something is okay, I’ll ask first. If I see anything inappropriate or if I experience anything online that upsets me, I will tell the teacher immediately.
5. I will always be courteous in how I communicate to others; I will not use bad language, insult people, or be rude. I will respect the privacy of my friends, family, and school.
6. I will not respond to email from someone that I do not know.
7. I will not click on any pop-up message that tells me I won something.
8. I will be a good online citizen and will not do anything that hurts other people or is against the law.
9. I understand that violating this pledge may result in loss of computer access, and I will accept the consequences.
